Haying and cattle
The pencil drawing shows a hilly landscape. In the foreground farmers can be seen harvesting hay. In the left part of the picture there is a hay cart with horses. The right part of the picture shows a herd of cattle grazing. The titles "Hay harvest and cows" and "Harvest and grazing cattle in a hilly landscape" have been handed down.
The work is signed "A. M." at lower left, but not dated.
The following indications can be taken from the reverse: in pencil "4." (not identified), "Bundesrepublik Deutschland / Kunstmuseum der Stadt Düsseldorf" (borrower, after 1945), "1967/42" (inventory no. borrower, after 1945); in ink "ct[...]" (not identified); watercolour and pencil drawing.
