Description
Group of men, 3 old men in the foreground, 2 more vital men lead a frail man with a stick, antique clothes, left man with cap, man in the centre has a drinking bag around his neck and a stick in his hand, all three with long, curly hair and beard, without shoes, in the background architecture with steps, columns, straight lines, a group of two in the back left in conversation, another couple on the right at the edge

Possibly part of the auction of the Dr. M. Waldeck collection; auction at Amsler & Ruthard on 14 February 1887 and the following days, sale to "Pot"; auction at Rudolph Lepke's auction house, Berlin, on 14 March 1905, sale to "Greve"; probably during the war, at the latest since 9 July 1945 until today Lippische Landesbibliothek Detmold, initially handed over in trust by the British Military Government Detmold, since 20 July 1945 officially handed over for safekeeping.
