Description
The bacchantine, naked except for a few leaf tendrils, strides lively forward, beating her pelvis with both hands raised high. The upper part of the body is tilted backwards and the face is turned sideways and downwards towards a ram, which strives up to the bacchantine from behind. Idealistic-naturalistic genre.
Provenance
Gift of the Kunstverein 1887, inventory ZV 2815-4141 (1920-1988). Loaned to the Ministry of Justice Dresden on 2.11.1925 (room 47). Not listed in the inventory 1950.
