Faience roof tiles: Sitting tile
Collection Eduard Fuchs, probably acquired after 1924 and in his possession until 1933; 25.10.1933 confiscation by the Gestapo; forced sale (payment of Reichsfluchtsteuer) by his daughter Gertraud Fuchs: auction Auktionshaus Rudolph Lepke Berlin, catalogue 2115, p. 37 - on 15.10 and on 16.10.1937 this ridge turret was auctioned under no. 597: "FAYENCE-DACHZIEGEL: Sitzende Ziege; weißlichgelb und grün glasiert. Höhe 29 cm. Ming".
According to the annotated Lepke catalogue (Kunsthistorische Bibliothek Den Haag) auctioned by the Viennese art dealer Anton Exner, Paniglgasse 18-20, Vienna, who specialised in Asian art, for RM 30 (no estimate). The copy of the minutes of the auction 2115 at the Reichskammer für bildende Künste, however, notes "Fritzsche" in typescript and confirms the price of 30,- RM (Landesarchiv Berlin, A Rep. 243-04 Reichskammer für bildende Künste - Landesleitung Berlin); Museum für Angewandte Kunst, Vienna (since this ridge turret was found in Vienna, there is much to suggest that the naming of "Fritzsche" as the buyer was a clerical error)
