Jacob Goldschmidt, presumably acquired through Paul Pétridès (official art dealer of Maurice Utrillo from 1937 until his death); recorded in his inventory book (kept between 1939 and 1941) under no. 12658; sold to Karl Lilienfeld on 1 December 1940 for USD 234; Perls Galleries, New York; acquired by the family of the later owner, who consigned the painting for the auction ‘Impressionist and Modern Art (Day Sale) and Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper’ at Christie's New York on 7 November 2002 (lot no. 299). The painting sold for USD 65,725.
