Description
Depiction of a person, on the left a woman (similar to Mary) with folded hands, standing on a cloud? And dressed in a long simple dress and a long veil/headscarf that wraps around the entire back, gaze lowered, on the right slightly above the woman, a man with sweeping gestures, arms stretched upwards and to the side, with a shawl/cloak spread out at the back (blowing in the wind), seems to float, man older, wears a longer beard, little hair on his head, defined abdominal muscles, as clothing only a long shawl/robe around the hips and legs, 3 angels are placed around the man, childlike

Auction at Rudolph Lepke's auction house, Berlin, on 14 March 1905, sale to "Greve"; probably during the war, at the latest since 9 July 1945 until today Lippische Landesbibliothek Detmold, initially handed over in trust by the British Military Government Detmold, since 20 July 1945 officially handed over for safekeeping.
