Description
Motif: The narrow, landscape-format picture shows a bulbous red-brown jug, a tin candelabra with a burnt candle and a glass. On the right is a diagonally opened book with a second candlestick behind it. Work reference no. Gm 917 g
Provenance
Acquired on February 6, 1939 by Rudolf Neugass, Bad Homburg. The eight Wilhelm Busch paintings owned by Rudolf Neugass were already in the fall of 1938, according to a letter from 25.11.1938 in the archives of the Wilhelm-Busch-Gesellschaft e.V. In the early summer of 2017, they were returned to the heirs of Rudolf Neugass
