Description
In the stone designated "Thiel" at lower right; numbering at lower left "4/30", in pencil designated "Johannes Thiel" at lower right. Under contemporary passepartout, typewritten with the title of the work on the left and the artist's name on the right.
Provenance

transferred in September 1943 by the OFP Hessen in Darmstadt to the Painting Gallery and the Museum of Antiquities of the City of Mainz, tax office identification number: M. St. 88/851. Probably confiscated by the Mainz tax office in September 1942 after the deportation of the owners. The identity of the owner (presumably a Mainz collector specializing in prints of the Berlin Secession and the 1920s) has not yet been clarified.
