World time clock ( 12 in the afternoon)
In the plate signed lower left: "R. N. 17.8.1919". Catalogue of works: Reinhardt/Hannemann 1984: 1919.11, here different title: "12 noon". "24" written in pencil at the bottom center of the back of the sheet. Under contemporary passepartout with title note "Nails" at lower left on the front. Loaned to the Gutenberg Museum Mainz in May 1944 by the Gemäldegalerie der Stadt Mainz in the context of the exhibition "Buchkunst und Graphik unserer Zeit" (Book Art and Graphics of our Time), hence the note of run no. 53 from the loan list on the back of the passepartout.
transferred in September 1943 by the OFP Hessen in Darmstadt to the Painting Gallery and the Museum of Antiquities of the City of Mainz, tax office identification number: M. St. 88/851. Probably confiscated by the Mainz tax office in September 1942 after the deportation of the owners. The identity of the owner (presumably a Mainz collector specializing in prints of the Berlin Secession and the 1920s) has not yet been clarified.
