Description
Signed with the snake as the artist's signet and the year "1527"; Adam and Eve embrace each other under the Tree of Knowledge and both hold on to the apple; on the left, a lion comes out of the bushes, on the right, in front of the spruce trees, a stag and a doe are resting; in the foreground, two partridges and a rabbit can be seen.
Provenance
1935 in the reorganized exhibition (SSFG, SM, Archive, File 3405); May 31, 1935 in the register of nationally valuable art monuments (ThHStAWeimar, C 1624); 1943 still present in the museum (catalog 1943, p. 243); January 1946 loss in Reinhardsbrunn; not in the Internet project 'Restitution'; ZDF video; shown at the exhibition 'Kriegsbedingt verbrachte Kulturgüter' in Moscow in spring 1995 in the Pushkin Museum.
