Description
Oval, foldable cover. Made of gold. At rims moulded with strips decorated with festoons of laurels in two hues of gold, connected by four similar decorated strips. Surfaces with ground of guilloche pattern covered with transparent orange enamel, framed by white lines of enamel. At cover a miniatur of enamel inside a golden frame of laurels: Kneeling girl towards a statue of Amor a heart in flames. At pedastal inscrition: Vous les Merit se tous 1775. Smooth gold inside. Weight: 188 g, Mark: At bottom and side wall Jb. F (crowned) 1769 - 1770, Paris. "tenant sign" similar to R.6524a, Julien Alaterre, 1768 - 1774. masters mark EF, not at R. At rim "receipt sign" bird head, not at R.
