Description

Shape:

Broad foot ring, the outer edge slightly bent upwards; bulbous body with sloping shoulder; accentuated cylindrical neck with wide mouth and extended lip.

Décor:

Indian flowers and flowering branches on the outside, the decoration is very dense and luxuriant, two large, magnificent birds with spread wings sit opposite each other on branches; around the foot and neck loose leaf and flowering tendrils.

At the outer lip, there is a significant chip as well as small glaze-defects at the ring stand.

Provenance
Dresden Castle, tower room; the collection of porcelain, together with the carpets, furnishings from the porcelain gallery and scientific material (10 boxes), was relocated to 16 different locations in a total of 1211 boxes. The relocation sites, some of which were castles and manor houses, served as refugee accommodation after 1945. As part of the collection was later offered for sale by private individuals or found in private estates, it is assumed that some of the losses were due to looting and destruction. According to the loss report for the porcelain collection from 1991, a partial transport to the Soviet Union cannot be ruled out.
