Description
Pewter jug of the fishermen's guild. The spout as a dolphin head. On the lid engraved two crossed fishes. On the body front inscribed: Christoph Gasse * / Jacob Naumann * / Christian Wäber * / Samuel Krahmer * / Altesten: Anno 1711. / Den 6. Februari. Marked with Dresden city mark and a makers mark.
Provenance
Until May 1945, the object was kept in the Dresden City Hall (seat of the Dresden City Museum). It was stored there together with the other handicraft exhibits of the museum - packed in boxes - in the cellar. Lost since the end of the war.
