Description
Pewter jug of fishermen's guild, completely covered with Renaissance ornaments. On the lid between inscribed: "Gott Lase Das Fiser Handtwerck Lange leben / und den Hern Renert darneben. Pravverw Alder. / M. J. B. 1751." Inscribed on the foot: "Gohes. Gnade. Sey. Zugen. Das. Wir. Ales. Wohl. Er. Wegen. In. Zum. Breys. und. uns. Zum. Sagenoher." Hallmarked with Dresden city mark and a makers mark.
Provenance
Until May 1945, the object was kept in the Dresden City Hall (seat of the Dresden City Museum). It was stored there together with the other handicraft exhibits of the museum - packed in boxes - in the cellar. Lost since the end of the war.
