Description
Surimono is divided in the middle; text above and below; a boat loaded with saketons is being pushed forward on a narrow river whose banks are fixed; the most famous Yeddo actors' coats of arms are painted on the barrels; the giant sun ball is sinking, birds are flying over the fields; the whole in its unusual format is perhaps a thank-you card from actors for the gifts sent to them at New Year.

[...] - at least at the end of 1929 Ostasiatica collection Herbert Ginsberg, Berlin; after 1945 no longer in the possession of Herbert Ginsberg; circumstances of loss unknown - a loss as a result of Nazi persecution cannot be ruled out. Whereabouts unknown
