Provenance
Listed in the Gardemeuble inventory of paintings (1882-1910); Inventory No. 1 of 31.01.1920 as part of the settlement agreement between the Free State of Saxony and the former royal house of 1924; on the salvage list of art objects of particular value, drawn up by the head of the revenue office Hugo Bahr, and the castle administrator Johannes Bibrach on 06.05.1942. The four paintings were initially brought to Pillnitz Castle along with 57 other paintings from the management rooms. From there, on December 7, 1943, they were taken to the storage location, the manor house of the Rehnsdorf estate. In view of the war situation, Gauleiter Martin Mutschmann ordered on 19.01.1945 that all relocation sites east of the Elbe be cleared and the salvaged objects transported to depots west of the Elbe. The relocation of the paintings from Rehnsdorf took place on 26.03.1945 to Schieritz Castle near Zehren in the district of Meissen; According to the records, lost at the relocation site.
